Leica IIIc with an Elmar 50 mm f/3.5, 1940
The photographic capabilities of the 1940 Leica IIIc were no different to its predecessor. What was new was the more stable, die-cast body, which was easier to complete that the extruded aluminium tubes used beforehand.
Because of the new body, the Leica IIIc was a few millimetres broader than the former model. With just minor modifications, the camera was manufactured up until 1951.
