Elmar 105 mm f/6.3

Share:

Released by Leitz in 1932, the Elmar 6.3/105 mm was a moderate telephoto lens whose combination of attributes (extremely light-weight, although rather low-speed) made it the perfect companion for hikers and mountaineers.

At just 240 grams (less than half the weight of its cousin, the Elmar 4.5/135 mm), the lens placed no physical strain on the photographer.

And in this particular area of application, its low speed did not present much of a problem. Indeed, to this day the Elmar 6.3/105 mm is just as widely known under the name of Mountain or Alpine Elmar.
