The Photobastei Gallery in Zurich presents the first exhibition of works by Peter Bialobrzeskis to be shown in Switzerland. Under the title The City – das Versprechen der Stadt (The Promise of the City), the gallery will display excerpts from 10 projects, offering a representative cross-section of the exceptional artist’s work.
The city as a model of co-habitation is being reinvented, particularly within Asia. For the past 15 years, Bialobrzeski has been investigating this phenomenon from a sociological perspective in the form of evocative images.
The selected photographs were taken between 2000 and 2015, predominantly in Asia and Europe. Bialobrzeski addresses the evolution of our globalised metropolises, but also places his focus on the micro-structures of minor cities such as Wolfsburg in Germany.
