A World of Photography in Zingst

The Hotel Stone in Zingst features a dedicated gallery space, established by proprietor Florian Schmidt. Klaus Tiedge, curator of the initiative ‘Erlebniswelt Fotografie Zingst’, has praised the concept, describing the Stone Gallery as a “very special venue whose role is to give independent artistic projects the space that they deserve.”

The venue currently features the exhibition ‘Versuche gegen das Abbild’ (Attempts towards the Image) by German photography artist Sandra Bergemann. The showcase continues until 28 February 2019. To create these experimental projects, the artist used different approaches to explore the limits of her chosen medium: structures and forms are dissolved to an extreme degree, giving rise to mesmerising abstractions.

The gallery programme subsequently features an exhibition by Nick Frank of the Association of Independent Photographers and Film-Makers (BFF), whose fine-art architectural images will be on display at the hotel’s Stone Gallery from 15 February to 30 April 2019.
