Submissions for the 9th Wiesbaden Photo Days are now open
The Wiesbaden Photo Days take place in two-year-intervals – always falling into a year with an uneven number. In 2015, the festival is dedicated to the theme of 'Home X'.

'Home' is not just a location, but carries a multitude of social, cultural and emotional associations. As such, it tends to be defined subjectively, based on individual background and life experiences. Hence the addition of the term 'X' to the festival theme – inviting photographers to address the concept of 'Home' beyond its traditional meaning of an address or official place of birth.

For participating photographers, the spectrum of possible interpretations is extensive, ranging from the non-location based 'home' that is the Internet to secret yearnings we carry within our own psyches.

For the 5th time in the history of the Wiesbaden Photo Days, a 3,000 euro grant will be awarded as part of the festival, donated by SV Sparkassen Insurance. The winner is determined by public voting, so that visitors can be actively involved – not only in selecting the best series, but also in the vibrant dialogue between photographers, their artwork and the event organisers.
