On February 11, 2016, at 7pm, the Zebra (Centre for Classic and Modern Photography) in Vienna is presenting the book EE & OO: “… but a plastic rose is forever” by Okky Offerhaus.
The Dutch author will be in attendance. As Elliott Erwitt’s long-time “Instant O”, she assisted the American Magnum photographer around the clock, both as muse and colleague, accompanying her idol behind the iron curtain, to South America and to Asia. EE (*1928) and OO (*1933) travelled together throughout the sixties, meeting celebrities and maintaining an intense collaboration caught between emotional devotion and professional passion. Erwitt published numerous photo books, but there is very little literature about him. Offerhaus is now filling in the gap, with a book that tells about her work with the photographer and their liaison.
The book presentation will take place on the evening before the opening of an exhibition at the Zebra (from February 12 to March 4, 2016) with photos by Offerhaus, Erwitt and other photographers from that period.
You can find more information about the book presentation and the exhibition at Zebralabor and Facebook.
