Faces & Places

The Leica Gallery Wetzlar is presenting an exhibition with photographs by jazz trumpet player Till Brönner. On view through June 12, 2016.
Until June 12, 2016, the Leica Gallery Wetzlar is presenting Faces & Places, an exhibition of photos of people and places taken by jazz trumpet player Till Brönner which he met on tour.

With the trumpet in one hand and a Leica in the other: Till Brönner (*1971) is a true all-rounder. His portraits of musicians, actors, sports people and other personalities show Armin Müller-Stahl, David Guetta, Maad Moiselle, Gregory Porter and many others exceptional close up and personal. In many of his black and white pictures, it is evident that he has a real sense for the right moment – what credits the jazz musician likewise.

As a photographer he can get closer to his subjects than other “real” colleagues might, and has the opportunity to get a glimpse behind the scenes of the world of show business. Beyond common orchestrations the jazz trumpet complements his close portraits through impressions of places which he captured with warm colours and melancholic monochrome on tour.
