Modern life seems to be infused with a sense of latent disquiet. It is a present-day phenomenon that manifests itself as something of a background noise in our subconscious minds: diffuse, vague, yet always present.

The group showcase ‘White Noise’ encompasses filmic and photographic spatial investigations that explore how this disquiet state affects our perception of reality. As well as creating new spaces by means of digital and analogue manipulations, the participating artists merge existing places with a ‘second reality’ (achieved through visual and auditory shifts in context) – as well as absurd spatial situations that juxtapose the colourful world of the present day with a much darker past.

‘White Noise’ comprises works by Doris Maximiliane Würgert (Germany), Maximiliane Leni Armann (Germany/Austria), Viktoria Schmid, Laura Sperl (Austria), Rudolf Strobl (Austria) and Patrick Topitschnig (Austria).
