From August 29 to September 13, 2020, the crème de la crème of photojournalism gathers in Perpignan for this year’s ‘Visa pour l’image’.

The 2020 edition of the legendary ‘Visa pour l’image’ International Festival of Photojournalism has been designed to accommodate Covid-19 safety regulations. With all necessary hygiene and social distancing measures in place, a total of twenty exhibitions will be displayed across the medieval city of Perpignan.

The physical exhibitions feature works by Anush Babajanyan, Victor Moriyama, Ian Wilms, Yasuyoshi Chiba, Bryan Denton, James Whitlow Delano, Alfredo Bosco, Emilienne Malfatto, Axelle de Russé, Elena Chernyshova, Peter Turnley, Sarah Caron, Nicole Tung, Ronan Donovan, Sanne Derks, Anthony Wallace and Chloe Sharrock. The programme also includes two group showcases – ‘I Can't Breathe’ and ‘The Pandemic’ – which will displayed at the Couvent des Minimes.

Starting from 31 August, daily screenings at the Funerary Chapel will feature news stories and reportages on major events of the past year. This year’s fringe programme, such as portfolio reviews, roundtable discussions and award presentations, will be held online – opening the festival up to an even more global audience.
