A comprehensive solo show by Tomoko Yoneda opens in Madrid on February 11, continuing until May 9, 2021.

Fundación Mapfre in Madrid is the first Spanish venue to dedicate a comprehensive solo show to London-based artist Tomoko Yoneda (born 1965 in Akashi, Japan). The exhibition comprises more than 100 works grouped into 17 series – including the recent projects ‘Dialogue with Albert Camus’, ‘Correspondence - Letter to a friend’, and ‘Crystals’. The showcase also features a new series about the Spanish civil war and Federico García Lorca (commissioned by the Fundación Mapfre), along with cameras, books and postcards from the artist’s personal archives.

Tomoko Yoneda studied at the University of Illinois in Chicago and the Royal College of Art in London, graduating with an MA in Photography in 1991.
