International Photography Festival in Kyoto

April 11, 2018

The Kyotographie photo festival takes place in the Japanese city of Kyoto from 14 April to 13 May 2018.
The sixth edition of the Kyotographie international photo festival takes place in Japan’s imperial city of Kyoto from 14 April to 13 May 2018. This year’s theme, simply titled ‘UP’, will be explored in the form of 15 exhibitions by a diverse range of photographers – spanning from Lauren Greenfield to Frank Horvat, Jean-Paul Goude, Gideon Mendel, Romuald Hazoumè and Masahisa Fukase.

The shows will be displayed in a variety of venues, ranging from historical buildings to contemporary galleries, as well as a number of non-traditional exhibition spaces. The festival also includes a comprehensive fringe programme of master classes, portfolio reviews, lectures and discussion groups.

The annual event, which was established by Lucille Reyboz and Yusuke Nakanishi, counts among the most important art festivals in Japan.
