The Japanese Leica Galleries are presenting the exhibition Les Leicas de Doisneau. In Kyoto the exhibition opens on February 6, and in Tokyo on February 19. In both cases the work is on display until May 15, 2016.
The French photographer worked for the Résistance during the Second World War, and documented the occupation and liberation of Paris. Following the war, he photographed for Vogue, Life, Paris Match and other renowned magazines. In addition to portraits of celebrities, Doisneau became particularly famous for his photographs of everyday life in Paris.
