From 4 to 10 May 2018, photography enthusiasts from around the world will once again flock to Georgia’s capital for this year’s edition of the Kolga Tbilisi Photo festival.
Visitors of the week-long event have the chance to explore the work of internationally renowned photographers, such as Jan Grarup, Sarah Moon and Meinrad Schade, as well as local masters such as Levan Kherkheulidze and Daro Sulakauri. The rich programme of exhibitions is complemented by a range of workshops, seminars, panel discussions and portfolio shows.
In addition, the country’s most prestigious photography competition will once again take place within the context of the festival. A total amount of 7,000 US dollars will be awarded in the categories of Documentary Series, Reportage, Conceptual Photo Project, One Shot, Mobile One Shot and Mobile Photo Series.
In addition, the Kolga Newcomer Photo Award is aimed at talented photographers under 25. This year’s jury comprises Lars Lindemann, Tina Schelhorn and Nikolaj Laoutliev (all from Germany), as well as the US-American photographer Richard Bram.
