The National Portrait Gallery in London invites photographers to submit their work for this year’s Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize. Submissions close on September 22, 2020 at 17.00 UK time. The contest is open to photographers of any nationality who are over the age of 18. The topic of ‘portrait’ can be interpreted in the broadest sense; the core focus should be on portraying people “with an emphasis on their identity as individuals”.

The winner of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2020 stands to receive £15,000, while the second and third-place nominees will be awarded £3,000 and £2,000 respectively.

A virtual exhibition of all shortlisted works will be showcased on the National Portrait Gallery website, with the aim of reaching a broad audience and ensuring that the contest can go ahead despite the Coronavirus pandemic.
