The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize ranks among the world’s leading photography contests, with winners receiving £15,000 (1st Prize), £3,000 (2nd Prize) and £2,000 (3rd Prize) respectively. A highly qualified jury selects the best examples of contemporary portrait photography, which are subsequently presented at the National Portrait Gallery in London. Submissions for this year’s edition close on Tuesday, 11 June 2019, at 23:59. Details on how to enter can be found on the National Portrait Gallery website.
The international law firm Taylor Wessing has sponsored the prestigious award since 2008. Around 40,000 visitors flocked to the National Portrait Gallery last year to view the Photographic Portrait Prize 2018 exhibition, which encompassed more than 50 images.
