Millions of people are trying to reach European soil today, fleeing from war, hunger and discrimination. Europe, itself, is a continent where, in the recent past, the fact that millions of its own citizens were also forced to flee was a bitter reality.
Renown Magnum Agency photographers have captured images of the suffering and despair of refugees between 1945 and today. The 50 photographs are complemented with historical press texts and ordered time-wise with short texts.
An exhibition by Magnum Photos and Zeitenspiegel – Reportageschule Günter Dahl. Introduction: Thomas Becker, Art Historian, head of the Design and Art Academy Reutlingen (dekart).
