From June 25 to July 25, ausjuriert, an exhibition of works by Wolfram Janzer, will be on display at the f 75 photo gallery in Stuttgart. As may be guessed from the title, Janzer's exhibition brings together all the pictures he has submitted unsuccessfully to competitions over the years. Consequently, the display is a carefree, colourful collection of worthy images that did not, however, receive prizes.
The ungrateful fourth place
Janzer doesn't see this effort as a way to get even, but rather as a bit of fun and games. Taking an analogy to sports, the exhibition could be subtitled “coming in fourth”; after all, it's a well-known fact that fourth place at the Olympics is an ungrateful position – you've run like a world champion, but haven't achieved a medal.
