Beyond the Piazza San Marco and the Ponte Rialto
There are countless books on Venice: you could easily imagine that every thing about the city has already been said, written and photographed. Far from the truth. Karl Johaentges has managed to discover a completely different side to Venice, because he focusses on those who (still) live and work there.

In collaboration with Luana Castelli, a Venetian herself, he aimed his camera at the other Venice – beyond the Piazza San Marco and the Ponte Rialto. The photo project that he has developed over a number of years, concentrates on the city's the lesser known, still remaining, inhabitants.
