Applicants for this year’s Contemporary German Photography grant are invited to submit their entries to the Museum Folkwang by 27 September 2018. The grant programme is organised by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen Foundation and the Halbach Foundation, and managed by the Museum Folkwang.
The purpose of the grant is to enable photographers to pursue a long-term project outside of their commissioned work. There are no age restrictions for participation, nor do applicants have to adhere to any specific theme or genre – the aim is simply to promote new, contemporary approaches to observation and expression within the medium of photography. Every two years, two grant recipients are selected by an international jury.
Each grant is endowed with 10,000 euros. Recipients must complete the proposed project within one year, and subsequently provide the Museum Folkwang Photography Collection with excerpts and documentation of the final result.
