Each year SF Camerawork invites an esteemed jury to curate the gallery’s annual survey exhibition. The upcoming showcase was compiled by Beryl Bevilacque (Artist Liaison, Jessica Silverman Gallery), Samantha Cooper (Photo Editor, Wired Magazine) and Erica Deeman (Artist), who selected works by 13 photographers from a pool of over 200 entries.
The artists featured in ‘FORECAST 2019: SF Camerawork Annual Survey Exhibition’ are Adrian Burrell, Johnnie Chatman, Nathan Córdoba, Salome El, Keko Jackson, Brendon Kahn, Vikesh Kapoor, Kristina Knipe, Desiree Rios, Sophia Schultz Rocha, Chanell Stone, Adrian Octavius Walker and Aaron Wax.
Adrian Burrell has also been chosen as the recipient of the SF Camerawork Juror’s Choice Award of USD 1,000. The Oakland-based photographer focuses on notions of kinship, diasporic narratives, and the gap between place and belonging.
