Berlin-based photojournalist Sebastian Bolesch has received the Leica Camera Prize, which is awarded as part of the Rückblende photo competition. As a result, Bolesch is now the owner of a Leica M with lens. The Leica Camera Prize represents second place in the competition. The first prize was awarded to Stefan Boness for his picture of the German chancellor.

Bolesch was selected for his image of the Foreigners Centre in Eisenhüttenstadt (Germany). The centre offers temporary housing for newly arrived refugees, while at the same time serving a holding facility for those awaiting deportation.

For his first project with his new camera, Bolesch plans to travel to the Ukraine. Organised by the Federation of German Newspaper Publishers and the Representation of Rhineland-Palatinate, Rückblende is an annual photography competition honouring political photography and caricature art in Germany.
