Where the World is Melting

The Versicherungskammer Cultural Foundation in Munich presents a retrospective exhibition by Leica photographer Ragnar Axelsson (RAX). Open from December 15, 2021 to March 13, 2022.

For over 40 years, Ragnar Axelsson (RAX, b. 1958) has photographed people, animals, and landscapes in the most remote regions of Greenland, Iceland, and Siberia. In simple black and white images, he captures the elementary human experience of living in nature, on the outermost edges of the habitable world. The Versicherungskammer Cultural Foundation in Munich presents the Leica photographer’s first retrospective – featuring works from his internationally renowned series ‘Faces of the North’, ‘Glacier’, ‘Last Days of the Arctic’, and ‘Arctic Heroes’.
