Female photographers have up till May 6, 2016, to submit their work for the international Prix Virginia. The Prize has been awarded since 2012 and is directed at professional photographers – regardless of age or origin. The only areas no accepted are commercial photography and photo journalism.
The prize money amounting to 12,000 euros is sponsored by the French Association Sylvia S. The prize-winning submission will be exhibited in October at the Espace Photographique de Sauroy in Paris. The photographs will then be published in the November issue of the French newspaper, Le Monde's M magazine. In 2012 it was the British photographer Liz Hingley who received the Prix Virginia; and in 2014 it was the Israeli photographer Dina Goldstein.
