Louise Honée and Charlotte Mano have been announced as the winners of the Prix HSBC pour la Photographie 2020. They were selected from a shortlist of 12 finalists compiled by this year’s artistic advisor, Fannie Escoulen.
Louise Honée receives the prestigious award for her series We Love Where We Live – portraying the experience of children and young adults growing up in the economically challenged US state of West Virginia. Honée (born 1974) is based in Arnheim, Netherlands.
French photographer Charlotte Mano (born 1990) is the second recipient of this year’s award. Her project is dedicated to her relationship with her mother, who suffers from a terminal illness: Thank you Mum is a sensitive series brimming with intimacy, bereavement and hope.
