Love, Rock & Revolution

January 28, 2016

From January 29 to March 28, 2015, the Leica Gallery in Prague is presenting an exhibition of works by Jim Marshall (1936–2010), the rock star among Leica photographers.
In addition to photos from the 'The Haight: Love, Rock & Revolution' series, the Leica Gallery in Prague is showing pictures of everyday life in the sixties in Marshall's home town of San Francisco.

From Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder, Mick Jagger, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles, to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marshall's iconic photographs of celebrity musicians of the twentieth century are still found today on the covers of magazines and albums. During his fifty-year career as a photographer, Marshall brought music idols closer to the people – his pictures always touched the nerve of the music Zeitgeist. In 2014, during the 56th Grammy Award Ceremony, he was posthumously honoured with the Trustee Award for his services to the music industry.

Marshall's work was featured in LFI 1/2013.
