Paul Cupido

May 12, 2023

Through to June 24, 2023, Leica Gallery Paris presents Paul Cupido’s series ‘Séléné’ at its new premises in the city’s 8th arrondissement.
With the launch of their INSTANTS residency programme, Leica and Château Palmer have reaffirmed their joint support for contemporary photography. The programme has been inaugurated by Dutch photographer Paul Cupido, who was recommended by Art Photo Projects and chosen by a selection committee of Château Palmer and Leica representatives.

Between April and October 2022, Cupido embarked on a portrayal of the history and values of Château Palmer, which is not only famed for its exquisite wines, but also well known for its collaborations in the fields of jazz and photography. In the course of several stays at the estate, the artist captured images imbued with a dreamlike visual poetry. The results of his residency are now presented at Leica Gallery Paris until June 24, 2023.

A book of the same title (‘Séléné’) has been published by Editions Filigranes. In the next issue of LFI Magazine, we present Paul Cupido’s series in an comprehensive portfolio.
