Poetic Compositions

Share:

From August 31 to October 28, 2023, Leica Gallery Paris presents three highly varied bodies of work by Claude Iverné, designed to reflect his multi-faceted approach to the photographic medium. Deciding on this illustrative selection was no easy feat, given the personal and creative versatility of an artist who excels in all areas of photography – regardless of whether he works in colour or in black and white.

The work of Claude Iverné, who was honoured with the Henri-Cartier-Bresson Award in 2015, is distinguished by a discreet, geometrically precise yet profoundly expressive visual language. Guided by his intuition and keen sense for lyrical compositions, he is both a poet and, simultaneously, a meticulous master of his craft.

The exhibition comprises excerpts from: ‘Manifesto 1, Sudanese Photographs’, ‘Manifesto 2, Trees’, and ‘Manifesto 3, About Color – Childhood Traces and Primary Amusements’.
