In 2015, the Italian-born Leica photographer embarked on a roadtrip from New York to Los Angeles. Many artists before him, from Robert Frank to Jack Kerouac, have been fascinated by this west-bound route across the USA, so that it has long been deeply embedded in our collective visual consciousness.
D’Agostin (born 1983) travelled the 7,439 miles on his motorbike, developing his films in hotel sinks along the way. The result is an extraordinary series of contrast-rich images filled with beauty, subtlety and grace.
