In Harrodsburg – his most recent series and winner of the first Magnum Photography Awards 2016 (category: Street) – Wallace documents the shopping habits of London’s super-rich. However, behind the colourful and eye-catching images lies a profound sociological study which explores the growing economic and political impact of the ultra-affluent on the British metropolis.

The second project, titled Road Wallah, is a homage to the black-and-yellow Padmini taxis in the Indian capital of Mumbai. For four years, Wallace photographed these cabs and especially their charismatic drivers and passengers. The result is a humorous, cross-sectional study of Mumbai’s inhabitants.

Both series are available as photo books released by Dewi Lewis Publishing.
