From now the best 50 main-category entries, and the best 20 submissions for the Newcomer Award can be viewed at leica-oskar-barnack-award.com – allowing participants and photography fans to join in the suspense of who will be announced winners in June 2015.
This year’s jury members are Michael Biedowicz (picture editor for Zeit Magazine), Christian Caujolle (curator and founder of Agence Vu), Karin Rehn-Kaufmann (chief representative of Leica Galleries International), Martin Kollar (2014 winner), and Brigitte Schaller (art director, LFI).
This year’s winners are especially in luck: for the first time, the award consists of 25 000 euros prize money in addition to photography equipment from the Leica M System to the value of 10 000 euros. The winner of the Newcomer Award can look forward to 5000 euros prize money along with the same equipment.
