The 22nd Noorderlicht International Photo Festival will take place from August 23 to October 11, 2015 in Groningen, The Netherlands. The motto for this year's festival is “Data Rush”. This is also the title of the festival's main exhibition, which includes works by around fifty renowned photographers and multi-media artists, who are dedicated to the digital world we live in today. Private spheres, freedom and controls are the cornerstones of the exhibition concept.
The second largest group exhibition is titled Pulse. In this case it includes 16 classic projects that will contrast with the modern pieces in the main exhibition. The photographers deal with today's world in the form of poetic pieces.
Among the additional exhibitions is Fearless Genius by Doug Menuez, which covers the first years of Silicon Valley, the birthplace of the internet. Symposiums, talks and film presentations round off the programme of this year's festival.
