Leica Gallery Wetzlar presents the exhibition 'Nomi Baumgartl – From Passion to Vision’, on display from May 13 to October 5, 2022.
With the exhibition ‘Nomi Baumgartl – From Passion to Vision’, Leica Gallery Wetzlar gives insight into the extensive career of the German Leica photographer (b. 1950). The showcase, which features an overview of Baumgartl’s most important projects, is on display from May 13 to October 5, 2022.

Among the represented works is the spectacular series ‘Eagle Wings – Protecting the Alps’, which highlights the progressive effects of climate change in the form of glacier photographs, aerial shots captured with a miniature camera attached to the back of an eagle, and high-resolution satellite images.

Also on display are her iconic images of top model Tatjana Patitz, as well as elite surfers Mickey Eskimo, Robby Seeger, and Francisco Goya. The series of images, which revolves around the harmony of man and nature, laid the foundations for the project ‘Yin & Yang’.

In addition, the showcase includes a portfolio dedicated to Baumgartl’s friend and fellow photographer, the late Andreas Feininger (1906–1999). Conceptualised on the occasion of Feininger’s 100th birthday, it is a reflection of the two artists’ dialogues about photography, perception, and the relationship between people and nature.
