Young photography in Niort

March 6, 2018

This year’s edition of Rencontres de la Jeune Photographie Internationale is set to take place in Niort, western France, from 7 March to 26 May 2018.
In early January, an expert jury selected the artists-in-residence for this year’s event. The positions were awarded to Laura Bonnefous, Nia Diedla, Lisa Gervassi, Isabelle Ha Eav, Manon Lanjouère, Dina Oganova, Dorian Teti and Negar Yaghmaian. Their work, covering a wide spectrum of styles including experimental approaches, will be displayed in the city’s town hall for the duration of the festival.

A particular highlight is the exhibition Satellites, which takes the viewer on an exploratory tour of the work of Corinne Mercardier, this year’s guest of honour. Further showcases include an exhibition of works by Eve Martin and Jérémy Pengam, both of whom currently study at the Poitiers/Angoulême Academy of Art.
