March 28, 2019

The photo festival ‘Rencontres de la jeune photographie’ in Niort celebrates its 25th anniversary: from 4 April to 11 May 2019, the small town in Western France is entirely dedicated to young, innovative photography.
25 days, 155 photographers, 1000 pictures: The international photo festival Rencontres de la jeune photographie is once again set to take place in the French town of Niort. From 4 April to 11 May 2019, the works of emerging photographers from around the world will be displayed for the festival’s 25th anniversary edition. 14 exhibitions in various venues around the town allow visitors to encounter a diverse range of artists such as Laura Bonnefous, Svetlana Khatchatourova, Dana Stölzgen, Sébastien Normand, Karen Miranda Rivadeneira, Mana Kikuta, Paul Chapellier and Filip Przewozny, to name but a few.

Italian photographer Emanuela Meloni will present her solo exhibition Du vert aux voiles, showing the results of her residency at the festival’s 2015 edition. The series, which will be on display at the Carré Amelot, is a photographic exploration of the region connecting Niort with the Atlantic Coast.

In addition to guided tours, workshops and master classes, the programme will once again include high-calibre panel discussions with renowned industry experts, including Pascal Beausse, Christian Caujolle, Erick Gudimard, and many more.
