Stockholm’s Fotografiska Museum opens a subsidiary in New York: on December 14, 2019, the new venue will be inaugurated with five parallel exhibitions. Ellen von Unwerth’s showcase ‘Devotion! 30 Years of Photographing Women’ is complemented by excerpts from Helene Schmitz’s series ‘Thinking like a Mountain’, as well as presentations by Tawny Chatmon, Adi Nes and Anastasia Taylor-Lind.
In ‘Devotion! 30 Years of Photographing Women’, Ellen von Unwerth – who is a passionate Leica photographer – presents her provocative yet playful oeuvre in the form of seven emotional expressions: Play, Gender, Drama, Love, Power, Passion, and Lust.
In ‘Thinking like a Mountain’, environmental photographer Helene Schmitz explores the relationship between nature and humanity in powerful, large-scale images.
Adi Nes explores social and political questions through his portraits.
Ellen von Unwerth has created an issue of Leica S Magazine, available to order here.
