In his latest series, American photographer Marc Yankus (b. 1957) continues his investigations of New York’s urban landscapes. Yet instead of capturing scenes of a bustling metropolis, he photographed empty streets devoid of movement and distractions – allowing a century of majestic architecture to take centre stage.
Using aerial views, panoramic shots and unusual angles, Yankus enables us to see iconic buildings such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the legendary Dakota apartment block in an entirely new light. ‘New York Unseen’ will be on display at the Manhattan-based gallery until November 16, 2019.
