Next Stop: Ukraine

November 21, 2022

A poignant display of works by photographers of the n-ost agency continues in Berlin’s subway stations until November 24, 2022.
The n-ost journalist network currently presents ‘Next Station: Ukraine’ – a display of large-scale photographs, showcased in several Berlin subway stations until (at least) November 24. With this public exhibition – which forms part of the EUROPEAN IMAGES project – the organisers aim to connect Berlin’s public spaces with the wartime reality in Ukraine.

Maxim Dondyuk (Ukraine), Pavel Dorogoy (Ukraine), Serhii Korovayny (Ukraine), Jędrzej Nowicki (Poland) and 2021 LOBA Newcomer-Award-winner Emile Ducke (Germany) documented how Ukrainian subway stations were turned into emergency shelters during Russian missile attacks. The images are displayed on large commercial billboards in three central stations: Gesundbrunnen (U8), Möckernbrücke (U7), and Rosenthaler Platz (U8). A brief caption explains the origins and context of each depicted scene.
