The n-ost Reportage Prize is awarded by the Network for East European Reporting in recognition of outstanding reportages on Eastern Europe. Now in its tenth year, the prize is divided into three categories (Text, Radio and Photo/Audio Slideshow), with each category winner receiving 2,000 euros.
The prize aims to foster high-quality reporting by honouring outstanding journalistic work, as well as promote a debate about the definition of 'Eastern Europe' and its portrayal in media reports. The submitted reportages must have been featured in a German-language publication between 1 January and 31 December 2015.
The n-ost Reportage Prize is awarded in June 2016 together with the East European Research Prize – a 7,000-euro research grant given out by the aid organisations 'Renovabis' and 'Brot für die Welt'. Submissions for the grant will be open in spring 2016.
