N-ost Reportage Award 2016

The 2016 n-ost Reportage Award was presented during a ceremony held on June 23, 2016: awards were given to contributions from Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bulgaria.
The 2016 n-ost Reportage Award was presented on June 23, 2016, for the tenth time, at the Volksbühne Berlin’s Green Salon.

The award goes to outstanding and insightful reportages on Eastern Europe, that have appeared in the German-speaking media during the previous year. It is awarded in three categories – text, radio and photo – and each winner receives prize money amounting to 2000 euros.


The 2016 winners are:

Christoph Cadenbach with the text reportage Guter Stiel Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, 23.10.2015

Mechthild Müser with the radio reportage Jede Nacht haben sie andere geholt Deutschlandradio Kultur

Pepa Hristova with the photo reportage The Bartered Bride (in Kunstmagazin Art, Süddeutsche Zeitung, 17.10.2015, among others)

The evening revolved around the total of nine reportage nominees: authors and photographers spoke about their research and presented their contributions. The actress Dorothee Krüger read extracts from the three nominated texts.
