Vanessa von Zitzewitz

In this first-time presentation at the Bernheimer Gallery, selected works by the German artist offer a rich blend of portrait and nude photography.

Born in Hamburg in 1970, Vanessa von Zitzewitz studied at the Parsons School of Design in Paris, and was soon commissioned to photograph for fashion and jewelry brands. In addition to advertising work for companies such as Cartier and Graff, the artist has created portraits of world-famous personalities including Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr, Gianni Agnelli and Carla Bruni.

The photographer is known and acclaimed for her unique visual style – a masterful combination of elegance and harmony. Her more recent nude photographs achieve the highest levels of aesthetics. The elaborately orchestrated images of the past year especially illustrate the artist's gift for creating an interplay of natural beauty with the staged aesthetics of nude photography.
