Masters of Photography (12/15)

As Official Photography Partner of Photokina 2016, Leica will be staging the Masters of Photography exhibition at the world photography trade fair.

Every day up until the opening of the Photokina on September 20, we will be presenting one of the pictures series. Today it is Wild Wild West by Ellen von Unwerth.

She is one of the most influential photographers of today, and, as a renowned protagonist in the male-dominated world of fashion photography – at least behind the camera –, she is an exception. Equipped with a Leica S (Typ 007), Ellen von Unwerth put together a unique series for the S Magazine 8: without the limitations of a commercial assignment, but full of typical moments bursting with life. In a loosely associative series, we accompany a girl gang in search of happiness in the Wild West. Learn more about von Unwerth’s latest project in LFI 7/2016, available as of 20 September.
