New president, new members, new nominees and new investors.
Within the context of the Annual General Meeting of the Magnum Photos agency in New York, three Magnum Nominees were awarded Associate Member status, while three further photographers have been granted a Nominee Membership.

After a two-year period as Nominee Members, the following photographers have now become Associate Members of Magnum Photos:

⁃ Matt Black (USA)
⁃ Carolyn Drake (USA)
⁃ Newsha Tavakolian (Iran)

As for the new Nominee Members:

⁃ Enri Canaj (Albania)
⁃ Emin Ozmen (Turkey)
⁃ Cristina de Middel (Spain)

This was the first Magnum AGM since the agency announced that it has, for the first time in its 70-year history, accepted an external investor in order to combat its ongoing financial difficulties.

New president
Another point addressed at the meeting was the election of a new president. After more than three years of fulfilling this role, British photographer Martin Parr has now handed the chairmanship over to Thomas Dworzak. The new regional vice presidents are Paolo Pellegrin (New York), Olivia Arthur (London), Mark Power (Tokyo) and Jerome Sessini (Paris).
