The Leica photographer’s exhibition ‘Black & White meets Color’ is showing at the Clairefontaine Gallery in Luxembourg from 28 April to 4 June 2016.

Born in Paris in 1928, Elliot Erwitt emigrated to the US with his family in 1939, dedicating himself to photography in the late 1940s. With mentors such as Robert Capa, Edward Streichen and Roy Stryker, Erwitt quickly developed his own unique visual style: intimate, ironic, surprising, at times impertinent and cheeky, yet always technically flawless. Erwitt became a full member of Magnum Photos in 1954, and has acted as the agency's president for three years.

The exhibition presents a comprehensive profile of the photographer’s career, spanning more than sixty years of creativity. Given that his great love of dogs prompted Elliot to dedicate no less than four photo books to man’s best friend, it is unsurprising that canines are also represented in this retrospective of his work.
