Craig Semetko in Hamburg

October 9, 2016

LFI Artist Talk with the American photographer on October 13, 2016.
On October 13, 2016, LFI welcomes visitors to its Hamburg headquarters for an Artist Talk with Craig Semetko. It begins at 19:00. The event, which is open to anyone, precedes a closed-door workshop that will be led by the American photographer.

During his Artist Talk, Semetko will explain what photography means to him, and what he considers the signs that it is time to focus the camera. One of his images appeared in the Lightbox of the M Magazine No. 3.

Craig Semetko is an American photographer focusing on authentic human experience. Born and raised near Detroit, Michigan, Semetko became a professional comedy writer and performer after college and years later discovered photography as another means of storytelling. His comedic background has given him a highly developed sense of the absurd and ironic, resulting in a strong theme of humor throughout his work. Magnum photographer Elliott Erwitt wrote about Semetko’s work: “Good photographs are tough enough to shoot. Really funny ones are even harder. Good and funny photographs observed in nature not arranged or manipulated but simply observed in real time with amazing consistency, constitute a minor miracle.”

During the workshop Craig Semetko will present his work, explain his method and provide tips on how to shoot street photography pictures with a twist. LFI-Workshop with Craig Semetko, October 14-16, 2016 – only few seats left!
