Leica USA launched the Leica Women Foto Project, a programme dedicated to promoting diversity and female perspectives in photography.
As part of the programme, three female photographers will be awarded a 10,000 US-dollar grant to pursue a personal project; in addition, each grant recipient will receive a one-year loan of a Leica Q. Events such as workshops will also form part of the new initiative.
The Leica Women Foto Project Award is open to legal U.S. residents aged 21 and over. Candidates are asked to submit a series of 10 images from a personal project (including at least 4 images created in the period from 2018 to 2019), captured with a digital or film camera of any make, model or brand. Entries must be complemented by a 500-word proposal offering a description of the project.
Submissions close on 29 August 2019.
