Leica Camera has today introduced new software and firmware updates for the SL, S and M systems, that ensure an improved workflow for tethered shooting.
For the mirrorless Leica SL camera system, updates are immediately available for the Leica Image Shuttle 3.4, the Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 and the new firmware 2.1, that once again improve the camera system’s professional workflow. Except for the new SL firmware, the updates also work together with the M and S systems. Registered camera owners can download the software and firmware updates after logging into the Leica Owner’s Area. In addition, within the framework of the free servicing deal, cameras can be brought up-to-date at a Leica Store.
The Leica Image Shuttle 3.4 software supports an efficient workflow for tethered shooting and enables the use of the cameras via a computer, using a USB port. This allows the user to dependably set all the relevant parameters such as exposure time, aperture, ISO and autofocus directly from the computer and judge the images on a large monitor. The new Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 – which can also be downloaded at the Leica website’s customer section – ensures a direct connection from the camera to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC by means of a USB cable. The camera can be triggered via a plug-in, and the pictures taken can be shown immediately in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC, which makes the tethered workflow even faster and more stable. A corresponding firmware update 2.1 for the Leica SL, which is necessary for the use of Image Shuttle and the Tethered Plug-in software, is also available to download.
Leica R Adapter L
In addition, the lens range for the Leica SL is also expanded thanks to the Leica R Adapter L. Now the top quality lenses from the Leica R system can be used to their fullest image potential in combination with the latest camera technology.
