The new Leica S is available now.
Leica's new medium format camera is much more than the CMOS version of the existing S: with its innovative features, it sets new standards in the world of medium format photography.

For the first time, a combination of ultimate frame rate, extreme sensor sensitivity and extensive stills and video capture modes enable the photographer to exploit the superior imaging capabilities of the medium format for productions which require a high degree of dynamic and mobility.

Among the camera's most remarkable innovations are the new Leica CMOS sensor and the new Maestro II processor, which facilitate a vastly increased level of speed and versatility that has never before been available within the medium format.

The new Leica S offers a maximum frame rate of 3.5 fps, full HD video recording in full medium format sensor size, along with 4K video capability. In addition, the camera's 2 GB buffer memory ensures fluidity when shooting rapid frame sequences.

The revised Autofocus system offers not only increased speed, but also more reliable and precise focusing. For optimum sharpness and precise tracking of moving subjects, the new Leica S features a predictive autofocus mode: the camera registers the motion of the subject and pre-determines the distance at the moment of exposure.

For a straightforward and intuitive workflow, integrated WLAN allows the camera to be operated via Smartphones and Tablets with the aid of an App.
