Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2018

February 10, 2018

Professional photographers are invited to submit their portfolios for this year’s Leica Oskar Barnack Award: submissions are open from 1 March to 5 April 2018.
The 2018 edition of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award (LOBA) once again explores the wide-ranging topic of man's relationship with his surroundings. Professional photographers from around the world are invited to submit a current series (comprising at least ten and no more than twelve images) which reflects this theme. An international jury will evaluate all entries. The contest is not limited to photos taken with a Leica camera.

The winner of the main award stands to receive a cash prize of 25,000 euros, as well as a Leica M camera and lens to the value of 10,000 euros. In addition, this year’s contest once again includes a Newcomer Award, aimed at aspiring professional photographers under the age of 25. This is endowed with 10,000 euros, along with a camera and lens from the Leica M system. The ten LOBA finalists will be awarded 2500 euros each.
