The Oriental Art & Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur is presenting photographs by Manu Mart – taken with a Leica M9 from the LFI loan pool. Up until April 2, 2017. The Who’s Johnny Lim series was produced in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Malaysia.

The initial idea was inspired by the novel, The Harmony Silk Factory, written by the Malaysian author, Tash Aw, where the protagonist, Johnny Lim, explores his own country. Mart also set out in search for clues and, capturing both the country and its people in his series. The pictures by the Spanish photographer were taken at the Straits of Malacca, the strip of water separating the Malaysian peninsula from Sumatra.
