Sunil Gupta and Maria Kapajeva are among those honoured at the Kraszna Krausz Photography and Moving Image Book Awards.
The Kraszna Krausz Foundation has announced the winners of the 2021 Moving Image Book Awards. The Photography Book Award has been jointly awarded to Maria Kapajeva for ‘Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear’, and Sunil Gupta for ‘Sunil Gupta: From Here To Eternity’. Editors Marie-Hélène Gutberlet and Brigitta Kuster win the Moving Image Book Award for their publications ‘On the Run: Perspectives on the Cinema of Med Hondo’ and ‘1970—2018 Interviews with Med Hondo’.
The chosen volumes explore themes such as cultural identity, collective experiences, social injustices, migration and memory, and shine a light on locations across the world, from Estonia to India and Africa. Each winner receives a cash prize of € 5,000.
The artists will be honoured on June 1st and 3rd in two live-streamed award ceremonies, organised in collaboration with the Photographers' Gallery.
